cooking just feels impossible. But in this economy, the thought of spending money on a restaurant meal can be daunting. Thankfully, Houston is the place to be for budget-friendly bites. Here are some of our favorites, all under $10.

It’s no surprise that we have some of the best banh mi, and at this Asiatown restaurant you can get a sandwich for the price of a fancy latte.

At under $3, this juicy sandwich is worth the hype with a price that can’t be beat. While you’re there, check out the market’s exotic meats like alligator and wild boar.

With five Mala locations in the Houston area, it’s easy to treat yourself to this dish made with wheat noodles, spicy Sichuan peppercorn sauce, and sesame paste, topped with ground pork, vegetables, and green onions.
